"China has awakened..." Exhibition
An exceptional photo exhibition, in Gif-sur-Yvette, from 16 January to 16 February 2019.
45 years ago, Alain Peyrefitte stated "When China awakens... the world will be trembling" in a resounding political and sociological essay that was very successful at the time.
In 2018, it was Michel Colin's turn to look at China, with his photo exhibition "China has awakened... between consumption and traditions".
The photographer retraces in images the evolution of the way of life of Chinese society, which after years of restrictions now aspires to enjoy leisure and tourism. His photographic journey focuses mainly on the Tea Route, and takes us from Yunan province to Tibet. Between traditions and modernism, it is an interesting testimony to the rapid development of Chinese consumer society and the wide disparities between urban and rural residents.
So here is an exhibition not to be missed, 30 minutes from our Orly-Draveil hotel. It will take place at the MJC Cyrano in Gif-sur-Yvette, from 16 January to 16 February 2019. Admission is free.
