The Palace of Versailles

Make the most of your stay in Orly Draveil hotel to visit the symbol of glory of France : the Palace of Versailles. Discover the 800 hectares of the domain composed of the Palace, the Trianon estate, the Park, the gardens and several buildings in town.

A bit of History

Located 35 km of our Hotel The Originals Paris South Orly-Draveil, the Palace of Versailles offers you a journey back in time. Registered at the UNESCO World Heritage for 30 years, the castle of the Sun King has been embellished over the years.

Built in the seventeenth century under the instructions of Louis XIII, the Palace of Versailles was first a hunting lodge, then it became the place of power for famous kings before becoming a museum. It was the residence area of French kings as Louis XIV, Louis XV et Louis XVI.

Plan your visit

First, discover the Palace with its impresive Hall of Mirrors, the king's large flat and the battle gallery. Allow about 1h30 for this visit. We advise you to start your visit at the opening of the castle, because of heavy peaking.

Then, go to discover the gardens. It will take you about 2 hours to visit.

Go on your bucolic stroll by visiting the Park. This place will be the perfect one to have a walk, ride your bike or even have a boat ride.

Finally, end your visit with the Trianon estate which was, at that time, the domain of Marie-Antoinette. For this complete visit, count about 3h

You can also visit the Gallery of Coaches where you will discover a wonderful collection of majestic coaches, small carriages, sedan chairs and sleds. Allow about 1h for this visit.

For more information about opening hours and prices, please visit the Palace of Versailles website.
